What is Arnis?

Arnis (also known as Kali or Eskrima) is a weapons based martial art from the Philippines. It is the national sport of the Philippines, and has a very long history of combat effectiveness. It emphasize weapon-based fighting with sticks, knives, bladed weapons and various improvised weapons. Whether you have a weapon or you are empty handed, most of the movements are the same. It is because of its simplicity which makes it highly effective for self defence and combat.
It can be seen in movies/shows such as Bourne Trilogy, Arrow, Enter the Dragon, Book of Eli and many more. It is also used by various law enforcement or military groups around the world. In 2005, Arnis was included in the SEA Games.
DAGOOC ARNIS SYSTEM
There are many kinds of filipino martial arts. Each style with their own speciality.
This system is based on Grandmaster Rodillo 'Rodel B. Dagooc's system, better known as the Dagooc Arnis System. GM Rodel is considered as a living legend and one of the cornerstones of modern arnis. He is a protégé of the late Grand Master Remy Amador Presas, ‘the Father of Modern Arnis.’ His system was created through the culmination of years of hard-work & lifetime dedication to the art. As of present the system has been taught in Malaysia, Australia, Israel, Italy, Brunei, Spain, South America Japan, Mexico, Thailand, Germany, and various states in the US.
Pekiti tirsiA tactical association (PTTA)
We are also an authorised study group under the Pekiti Tirsia Tactical Association. The Pekiti Tirsia Tactical Association was founded by Tuhon Jared Wihongi in 2002. The idea of an association dedicated to the tactical application of Pekiti-Tirsia was based on Tuhon Jared’s extensive background as a Police Trainer, SWAT Operator and an Army Special Forces Combatives Instructor. Also through Tuhon Kit Acenas (Executive Director of PTTA) we train with classical methodology such as 64 attacks and the extensive doce methodos material
Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is a highly effective close-quarters fighting art indigenous to the Visayan region of the Philippines. Based on tactics and strategies derived from edged weapons, Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is a complete system incorporating both weapons and empty hands methods. Designed for both single and multiple attackers, Pekiti-Tirsia is an ancient art that has evolved to stay relevant for modern combat and self-defense scenarios.
